We all know him as Wolverine, for his leading role in the X-Men film series. Though Hugh Jackman wanted to be a chef on a plane, he has become an actor, a singer, a multi-instrumentalist, dancer and producer gradually. But before being a Hollywood Celebrity he wanted to see the world, “I used to spend nights looking at atlases. I decided I wanted to be a chef on a plane. Because I’d been on a plane and there was food on board, I presumed there was a chef. I thought that would be an ideal job.”

Hollywood celebrity Jackman was born in Sydney, New South Wales as the second child of, a Cambridge-trained accountant, Grace McNeil and Christopher John Jackman. He graduated, with a BA degree in communication, in 1991 from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Hugh Jackman received another Graduation from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts of Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia and for that he also turned down the offer of a role in a well-liked soap opera Neighbours.
However, on the graduation night Hugh Jackman received an offer for a role in Correlli, a 10-part drama series. And he always cherished that series as he met his future wife Deborra-Lee Furness, “Meeting My wife was the greatest thing to come out of it.”
As a Hollywood celebrity, Hugh Jackman was one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” 5 years consequently.
Hugh Jackman was nominated as a ‘Best Actor’ for Les Miserables in 2013, in many institutions, such as for Academy Awards, British Academy Film Award, Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, Golden Globe Award, Saturn Award, Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Hugh Jackman was also nominated as ‘Favorite Action Movie Actor’ for People’s Choice Awards in 2013. As “Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media” in Les Miserables, Hugh Jackman was nominated for Grammy Awards in 2014.

- 58th Tony Awards in 2005 for His ‘Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety of Music Program’.
- 2014 Slammy Awards, as a ‘Raw Guest Star of The Year’ by Slammy Awards.
- Drama Desk Award (2004), for The Boy From OZ, as an Outstanding Actor in a Musical.
- Tony Award (2004), as a ‘Best Actor in a Musical’ for ‘The Boy from Oz’.
- Several miscellaneous awards for The Boy from Oz in 2004.
He was awarded Best Performance By A Human Male award as Wolverine and a joint award for Best Cast award during the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards for the game X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
In December 2012, Jackman received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
