He followed the life of crime and drugs.  He’d spend his days scamming and stealing, working on the odd drug deal before treating himself to the substances himself.

At age sixteen, Mark Wahlberg was convicted of assault against two Vietnamese men after he had tried to rob them and was sentenced to serve 50 days in prison at Deer Island penitentiary. During that he motivated himself to develop his lifestyle and leave the crime behind.

At that time his older brother Donnie Wahlberg, member of the 1980s boy band ‘New Kids on the Block”, helped him to get a recording contract, based on which Mark’s band “Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch” was introduced. Despite having a bad singing ability, promoters took to his dance moves and a physique they knew teenage girls would love.

Their debut music album “Music for the People” earned a hit with good vibrations and hit number one on the “Billboard Hot 100”, later also certified as a platinum single. The later one “Wildside” certified as a gold one and peaked at number five on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales chart and at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

But things turn out negatively when there were rumors about his fight with Madonna and her entourage at a Los Angeles Party.
